Title I Information
Title I Programs
Title I is the largest federally funded program developed to provide additional educational services to help disadvantaged students meet state academic standards. Title I schools implement school wide or targeted assistance programs to ensure academic success for eligible students. Title I funds may be used for a variety of services and activities, primarily to supplement instruction in reading, mathematics, and science.
Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs)
Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs) are state and local performance targets used to determine academic progress in schools. When a school meets state achievement goals for all students and for every subgroup of students, it has met Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs). A school is identified for school improvement when certain AMO goals are not met. Our list of schools in improvement is updated annually.
About the Title I Program
The purpose of Title I is to provide supplementary resources to students who attend schools in high economically challenged areas. Additional assistance in core content areas (particularly reading, and math) is provided to enable students to meet high academic standards.
