School Nurse Appreciation Day
Today is National School Nurse Appreciation Day! This day is all about recognizing our school nurse, Mrs. Raffety. She is always there to help, support, and care for anyone who needs assistance. We appreciate her service and all she does to take care of students and staff at LBJHS as well as advocating for health services in JCISD. Thank you Mrs. Raffety, R.N.! We are very fortunate to have you here!

The JC FFA Rabies Clinic is today (5/4/22) from 2-6 pm @ LBJHS Ag Shop. Low cost rabies vaccinations!! DHPP for dogs, FVRCP/LEUK for cats and dewormer are also available. Administered by Deer Creek Veterinary Center. Proceeds will go to JC FFA and local charities!

LBJHS students who owe hours have the opportunity to make up time over the next two weeks after school on Tuesdays (tutoring in the library), Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4-6 PM. Students will earn DOUBLE hours if they attend any of these 6 sessions. A sign up for attendance hours is in the office. You must sign up to attend!
The STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) exams for Algebra 1, Biology, and U.S. History will be administered on May 3, 4, and 5 respectively. Rosters with testing locations will be posted on the office window each day before the test. Please be on time and head directly to your testing classroom upon arrival. Students need to bring a fully charged school issued Chromebook on testing days. EOCs are online.
Teacher Appreciation Week
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Be sure to thank a teacher and let him or her know how much you appreciate all they do to support the students in JCISD.
A big shout out to the parents who welcomed the high school teachers and staff with coffee and donuts this morning and who have lined up several other treats throughout the week.
Students from all over the Texas State were chartered in to compete at the 2022 State VASE competition this weekend. Caylee Corpus competed with her Photograph winning first in her category. Her artwork went on to compete for Gold Seal and won against almost 32,000 students across Texas. Caylee's work is one of two photos with other Gold Seal Artwork that will be on tour around Texas for a year. Please congratulate Caylee on her incredible artwork and State win for Johnson City LBJ Art.
This past weekend we had several athletes represent LBJ High school at the Regional track meet in Kingsville. These athletes competed hard and made their school, teammates, coaches and community proud.
